Hellenic Jazz Society, Stavros Lantsias - Diary Of Dreams

'Diary of Dreams' was commissioned by Stavros Lantsias for Patras, Greece's bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2006. It was recorded in Pasadena, California. It features Peter Erskine on drums, Lars Danielsson on bass and the Camerata Athens Orchestra.

Stavros has studied classical piano and music theory. In 1990, he graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, with a specialisation in musical arrangement. In 1989 and 1990 he won two prestigious awards for jazz musicians: the Count Basie Jazz Masters Award for pianists and the Quincy Jones Jazz Masters Award for arrangers.

"'Diary of Dreams' began as a journal of musical ideas. Like dreams that are forgotten soon after we wake up, that’s how I felt my melodies, like memories from dreams that I didn’t want to be forgotten. My wish, was to be moved by the musical outcome which in turn I hoped to move the musicians and ultimately you, the listeners!" - Stavros Lantsias
